LG and Apple in action for iPhone 16 Pro

Ana sayfa / Smartphones

Apple is ramping up production of the iPhone 16 series for its launch next month. According to reports from Korea, LG will play an active role in the iPhone 16 Pro’s camera. Accordingly, the company will be responsible for the production of the advanced zoom camera (tetraprism).

Sources examining Apple’s production process stated that the tetraprism sensor used by LG in the iPhone 15 Pro Max was successful. In this context, Apple will continue to work with LG on the camera side. Tetraprism sensors are expected to be in both the 6.3-inch iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9-inch iPhone 16 Pro Max.

According to the partnership between LG and Apple, the Korean company will produce about 70 percent of the tetraprism cameras. Accordingly, it was stated that the iPhone 16 Pro will be produced in 60 million units in the first phase and 42 million of these will include LG sensors.

Meta Cancels Highly Anticipated VR Headset!

Meta has decided to cancel the production of its mixed reality headset, which was set to be released in 2027.

For those who don’t know, the foldable zoom sensor, or tetraprism, is very important for the camera module of the Pro models. These sensors allow for 5x optical zoom on the device. However, it also significantly increases the cost of the phone. Of course, LG is the only manufacturer in the supply of sensors.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will retain the dual camera layout on the back. These cameras will now be placed vertically instead of diagonally. The main camera will have 48 MP resolution and f/1.6 aperture.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will feature bigger camera improvements. The main sensor will retain its 48 MP resolution and will be able to take 12 MP telephoto photos with 2x optical zoom with f/1.78 aperture.
